Tropentarn, also known as Wüstentarn (desert camouflage), was introduced by the German Bundeswehr in the early 1990s as a desert adaptation of the standard Flecktarn camouflage pattern. Developed to improve concealment in arid, rocky, and semi-desert environments, Tropentarn retains the distinctive fleck-style design of Flecktarn but replaces the darker woodland colours with a lighter palette of tan, beige, brown, and muted green tones suited to dry terrain.

- Lightweight and breathable – Polyester mesh allows excellent airflow, making it ideal for ventilation panels and hot-weather applications.
- Durable and tear resistant – Maintains strength and structure despite its open weave, suitable for repeated use.
- Moisture resistant – Polyester fibres do not absorb water easily, helping the fabric dry quickly and resist mildew.
- Flexible and conforming – Easily shapes to curves and seams without adding bulk.
- Colour stable – Holds dye well and resists fading from UV exposure and washing.
- Weight and specification – 230±10GSM.
Each unit is supplied as a single piece measuring 1 m × 1.5 m. Orders of multiple units will be supplied as one continuous length where possible.
